Whether Amy is doing a sensitivity reading for a young adult fantasy book or a children’s picture book, she brings the same enthusiasm for showcasing a writer’s unique voice to each project. Her lived experiences as a trans woman allow her to guide writers and their characters toward portraying richer truths and away from the pitfalls of tropes and misconceptions.

Amy loves perusing her Sacramento library’s app for the next world she’ll get absorbed into. Especially when she’s crocheting another blanket or stuffed animal, which will inevitably claimed by her cat, Tortilla.

While Amy is quick to reach for nonfiction, a habit prevalent since middle school, she also loves sci-fi, fantasy, and LGBTQ+ inclusive fiction.
